The project involves the renovation of a dormitory located in Saginuma into a social apartment, combining elements of both a traditional apartment and a shared house. One notable feature is the provision of well-equipped workspace areas to cater to the increasing demand for remote work due to societal conditions.
The facility’s theme revolves around the concept of seamless integration between “living,” “working,” and “meeting,” with the interior design centered around the concept of “gradation.” Specifically, various elements such as “density,” “pitch,” “color,” “size,” “light,” “firmness,” “sound,” and “time” are incorporated throughout the space using materials, lighting, and furniture, creating a gradual transition from one space to another. The overall design aims to harmonize with the activities of the residents.
Within just one week of completion, all 60 units were fully occupied, marking a new beginning for this innovative project.
